Dot’s New Work: Current Exhibit, Basketball Tournament Coat, and Studio Work

Besides currently exhibiting with her artists’ group at the Art Coop, Dot is working on a few pieces for an upcoming event—the annual art fair of the Champaign-Urbana Craft League (http://www.craftleagueofcu.org/artfair.html).

Currently, Dot is showing her work at the Art Coop in Lincoln Square in Urbana along with about 10 other artists. Her fiber piece has sold.

Dot has completed a coat to include at the art fair this coming weekend, November 14 and 15, at the Urbana Civic Center. She constructed the coat from leftover pieces of other work. Some know her garments of this type as a Coat of Many Colors, but she calls it the Basketball Tournament Coat because she puts it together to stay busy while watching the endless basketball games in March and April. Note the fabulous buttons and the elegant color-matched (silk?) lining. Also in preparation for the show, she is dyeing her hand-woven scarves in her studio.
