Doors and Walls in the Alleys
Alleys offer a variety of scenes not available from the street. Paint isn’t applied as often, and materials acquire a natural and sometimes beautiful patina. Old surfaces are revealed by weathering. In other places, new paint is applied in various schemes. Hinges, handles, and bracing merge or pop out from adjoining surfaces. I took these photos over the last month or so in the alleyways of our Broadway (Rock Island) neighborhood.
