Video: Quad Cities and Peoria Bridges
For Christmas my number one daughter and her boyfriend gave me a GoPro camera. She thinks I’m an action and adventure photographer. Well, maybe that’s what I tell her I am. Then last month my older brother sent me a bag full of accessories—mounts, arms, suction cups—to hold the camera on various surfaces. I set up the camera to film from the car, sort of a dash cam.
The second part of the story involves the Henry Farnam dinner last month, an annual event that celebrates local Quad Cities history. The lecture this year focused on the eminent American bridge engineer Ralph Modjeski, who designed the nationally significant Government Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River in our city. All this gave me a subject for a video. Over the last month, then, I’ve shot time-lapse clips of bridges in the Quad Cities and Peoria. I put these together to create this video:
