Yamaguchi at the Figge Art Museum

An exhibition titled “Interconnected in Art, Nature, Science and Technology’ by Yuriko Yamaguchi is currently on display at he Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa. We viewed the exhibit last week after seeing a performance at the museum by the Baker Youth Ballet, in which Zoe performed.
According to the museum brochure, Yamaguchi “weaved delicate strands of wire and jewel-like pieces of resin into abstract sculptures . . . . Ranging from sprawling forms to compact fattened circles, the sculptures recall natural phenomena like tornadoes, cellular structures, and abstract representations of digital networks.
Yamaguchi is a native of Japan. A longtime resident of Washington, DC, she teaches sculpture at George Washington University.
