Photography: Birds on the Mississippi River

The recent cold spell has drawn the eagles back to the open water near Lock and Dam 15 in Rock Island, just a mile form our house. In the last 10 days, I’ve managed to produce a couple good images of the eagles and another of ducks. The big birds typically don’t allow Pearl the dog and me to get closer than 100 yards, but one was hunting and oblivious and the other must have been braver than her fellows.
