Living Sculpture Activity

Yesterday we traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to visit the Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Stacey  is taking an online class to through MOMA to develop new skills in art education. She summarized the activity:

Our daughter is a ballet dancer and is away at dance camp. She would have loved this Living Sculpture Activity.  One of her favorite things to do is to interact with the environment in dance poses. With my daughter away, my husband agreed to try this art game out. Here are some of his gestural interpretations of the sculptures in their beautiful garden settings. I think he captured the gestures of the work. With a class I would try working with cameras. Those who are more physical would strike the poses while partners can capture the movement in a picture.
