Parkinson House, Architect John Replinger

On our last site visit of the day, Dot and I traveled to western Champaign County to find the Parkinson house. John designed this house in 1973. The large house has a mostly flat roof, but back-to-back shed roof sections make possible two large clerestory windows that bring light into the center of the house.

The house was built among a half dozen mature oaks, yet views from inside are maintained on the large lot. A bedroom on the north side of the house is turned to the northeast to open up to the long view in that direction. Windows on the west side offer more views.
