Birds, Fall 2013 and Winter 2014

I took these shots of eagles, pelicans, and anahingas over the last three or four months, all but the anahinga near our house in Rock Island, Illinois. The Mississippi River passes over a dam at our town, creating open water beneath it, which offers the eagles a place to fish. The pelican colony lives a couple miles downstream near Credit Island. The anahinga lives in Florida. The last photo, heavily color altered, was roosting today in an oak tree just a quarter mile from our house.
