Architecture in Georgia

On our return from our holiday visit to Florida, we traveled on I-75 through Georgia for the 50th time. Still, we find items of interest. Just off the highway in subtropical Valdosta we found this striking midcentury-styled Wendy’s, probably the best-looking fast-food joint I’ve ever seen.

At the north end of the state, on the outskirts of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is the Chickamauga National Military Park. Here we found architecture from the mid-19th century in a rail fence and a cabin. The forms and craftsmanship are remarkable.
